Position Summary:
The Senior Analyst is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger and related journals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting financial controls, and assisting in financial reporting for the Hospital and affiliated entities. The Senior Analyst will also collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper accounting procedures and provide analysis to support decision-making.
- Leverage business models and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to collect, process, and analyze data, delivering actionable insights into the company and its revenue cycle partners
- Gather, consolidate, and analyze data from various internal and external sources to generate insights that drive business performance
- Support business decisions by delivering quantitative and qualitative data analysis, highlighting patterns, insights, and trends for key stakeholders
- Summarize reimbursement data by payor, facility, insurance plan, and other relevant categories to analyze underpayments and various payment scenarios
- Design, develop, and deliver ad hoc reports and data analysis for the Revenue Cycle departments using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, and other query tools
- Redesign reporting processes by creating databases and building reporting models that align with business processes, reporting needs, and complex information systems
- Manage the full report development lifecycle, including gathering requirements, design, development, testing, and ongoing support
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues within reports to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Develop and maintain BI and analytics standards, including data sources, data dictionaries, and best practices
- Update standard revenue cycle reports according to the reporting schedule or on an as-needed basis
- Report daily and month-end hospital statistics
- Prepare comments and supporting documents for Monthly Operating Review meetings
- Assist in the creation of annual Capital and Operating budgets, including volume, revenue, and expense forecasts for all COIDs
- Develop proformas and write executive summaries for capital/CAMS submissions
- Prepare volume and financial projections for various departments and initiatives
- Identify opportunities for additional revenue generation or cost savings
- Perform additional duties as assigned

FLSA Status: Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
- Minimum of three years of experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, or services accounting
Required Skills:
- Willing and able to adjust work schedule, as reasonably necessary, to meet the needs of hospital and departmental schedules
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Business Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs
- Technical Computer Skills - Proficiency in intermediate computer operations, including basic programming, relational databases, and operating systems. Experience with intermediate-level software applications for financial analysis and reporting
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential. Must effectively interact with team members, staff at all levels, physicians, patients, families, and other stakeholders.
- Adaptability & Professionalism - Ability to function effectively in high-pressure environments while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism in stressful or conflict situations
