The Surgical Services Surgery Aide is responsible for transporting all surgical patients to and from surgery. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists patients and nursing staff with transferring/positioning of patients, enhancing room readiness and the turnover processes between surgical procedures. Keeps shelves stocked with supplies and delivers specimens to the laboratory, picks up x-rays, charts, etc. In addition, the Surgical Services Surgery Aide is responsible for maintaining an optimum inventory of supplies utilized in the OR Suite and effecting change to maintain clean and orderly environment.

Non-exempt Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years' experience. Previous health care experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred.

Certifications: BLS Minimum Work Experience Prior housekeeping work experience is desirable.

Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment,: and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer service consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm, friendly, joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers, and colleagues.
