How you'll contribute
The Assessment Specialist - RN facilitates the intake and assessment process for individuals seeking behavioral health or medical services. Responsibilities include conducting initial nursing evaluations, assessing patient symptoms, functioning, and care needs, and providing clinical data to physicians for level-of-care determinations. The RN coordinates referrals, admissions, and follow-up activities while ensuring compliance with EMTALA and emergency detention protocols. This role requires strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications and requirements:
Master's degree in social work or counseling required. RN licensure may be used in place of a master's degree or per state regulations, or social services designee in the state.
Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
Current unencumbered clinical social work, counseling license, or per state of practice guidelines. RN license may be accepted but may vary based on the state.
CPR and CPI certified within 30 days.
