Carrollton Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Carrollton, TX, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. Our specialized programs serve adults 18+ and include tailored support for veterans, first responders, and other high-risk frontline professionals.
How You'll Contribute
Assist in administering health information services in accordance with accreditation, regulatory, and facility standards. Maintain accurate patient medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and established policies and procedures.
- Implement policies and procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving health information
- Process medical legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests
- Maintain patient medical records with accuracy and attention to regulatory requirements
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA privacy and security guidelines
Responsibilities
- Abide by HIPAA's Standards of Ethical Code and official confidentiality guidelines
- Assist the Medical Records Manager as delegated
- Prep, scan, index, and analyze all discharge records for completeness and compliance
- Manage release of information procedures in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements
- Perform reanalysis of physician-revised records to confirm all deficiencies are resolved
- Ensure fluency reports are completed and filed timely
- Collaborate with hospital departments to address revisions and requests for records
- Communicate HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations clearly with staff and external requestors
- Support HIM performance improvement processes as directed
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience: Prior experience in information management or psychiatric healthcare setting preferred
- License: Valid driver's license preferred
- Other Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and overtime
Scheduled Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
