Position Summary;

Responsible for material management activities related to the purchase, receiving, distribution and inventory of supplies, instrumentation and equipment in surgical services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, Preferred;

  • Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards

Essential Job Functions:

  • Helps the storekeepers pick supplies, receive supplies, and put away supplies.

  • Helps OR Techs pick surgical cases.

  • Helps Storekeeper and Nurses complete expiration date checks.

  • Assists with the physical inventory of patient care supply areas and stores. Assists with the reconciliation of WVMC physical inventory in compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Works with the Material Manager to resolve potential storeroom and non-stock supply outages.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use a box cutter, hand truck, and manual pallet jack.

  • Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment.

  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, handles hazardous material requiring knowledge of Hospital Safety Protocol.

  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook preferred.

  • Demonstrate sound judgement, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
