Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller is a state-of-the-art, 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to helping individuals recover from severe injuries and illnesses through compassionate and individualized care.
Job Summary
The Infection Control Coordinator is a qualified healthcare professional responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) among patients and staff. This role ensures compliance with CDC guidelines, JCAHO standards, and federal and state regulations through collaborative initiatives and data-driven process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of infection control processes in healthcare settings
- Analyze risk-stratified statistics and trends for HAIs
- Implement systems to identify, prevent, and report infections in patients and staff
- Monitor microbiology lab reports and collaborate with nursing staff
- Investigate infection clusters and exceedances of threshold rates
- Educate staff through in-services and policy reviews
- Lead and revise hospital-wide infection control procedures
- Communicate findings to administrative and clinical leadership via reports and committee minutes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required
- Registered Nurse license required (Texas)
- BLS certification required
- CBIC and/or SPICE certification preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience preferred
