Position Summary:
This position will be located within ER Admissions and is a Registration Lead role. It will include reception and registration of patients, inputting room/status changes, performing switchboard duties as required and other clerical duties associated with this position. It also includes reviewing updates with the team and assisting with any training for new hires or new processes. The expectation is to perform these duties while working to maintain a positive environment, both independently and as a team member.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills - Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of third-party payer admissions and registration requirements, as well as general understanding of medical terminology and procedures
Minimum Work Experience - Previous clerical, collections and credit experience; knowledge of healthcare accounts receivable billing and collections, experience with automated systems applications
Minimum 2 years' experience supporting hospital patient access staff. Experience with training staff and developing training curriculum material. Ability to work with multiple lines of leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrates understanding of health care as it relates to Patient Access and Registration, ability to set priorities and multi-task, ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations, must be able to handle confidential situations with tact, ability to work with computers, electronic devices, telephones and fax machines.
