Position Summary:
The Senior IT Support Technician is responsible for the supervision of the IT Support Technicians, oversight of the installation, implementation and maintenance of LAN used within the facility and supporting on-site/off-site locations. Responsible for project coordination for IT projects in conjunction with the department director. Confers with department director to determine information technology needs and to align information technology with the business needs of the facility.

- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
- Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.
- Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
- Responsible for maintaining all server backups and monitoring servers for performance.
- Responsible for ensuring Virus Scan software and MS Patches are applied in a timely manner.
- Responsible for responding to 'rogue device' reports from the HSC in a timely manner.
- Responsible for overseeing and maintaining phone systems, door access systems, and voice mail systems.
- Reports on security violations and overall oversees and maintains the security of our hospital computer systems.
- Assists department manager in creating and maintaining department policies and hospital-wide IT and phone-related policies.
- Responsible for reporting on corporate security standards and issues.
- Responsible for monitoring Service Now tickets and ensuring SLA compliance.
- Diagnoses, resolves, and closes customer issues according to service level guidelines.
- Promptly escalates issues to higher-level technical support or management when necessary.
- Documents and reports customer inquiries regarding new/different functionality.
- Provides end-user desktop training and minor hardware/peripheral repair as appropriate.
- Provides support for mobile phones, configures desktop operating systems and servers, and manages account access, password resets, and user access privileges.
- Individual must possess effective communication skills, written and verbal, as well as good problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Must possess the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum Work Experience Minimum 3-5 years experience working in a hospital environment required.
- Minimum 1 year experience with AS400 operations required.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience with network management required.
Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience with server, desktop, and peripheral configuration.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and other contacts.
- Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment.
- Must possess the ability to use the following equipment: Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine / Calculator / Computer.
- Individual will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
- Individual must possess effective communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and manage tasks.
