Position Summary
Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. Transporter/CNA will be responsible for assisting in turning operating rooms suites over between surgical cases, stocking of the OR suites, monitoring and putting supplies away, assisting with transporting patients between operating room and other departments, monthly weekend call, able to function independently without supervision
Qualifications and requirements
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred. Completed CNA Program.
• License / Certifications: Valid CNA license in Arizona upon hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date.
Essential Functions
Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department. Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
