How you'll contribute

As an Ultrasound Tech, you'll make an impact by interacting with patients of all ages using a variety of imaging modalities, explaining methods of procedure and ensuring patient comfort. You can also expect to:

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and organize your work area.
  • Keep accurate records, help with scheduling of ultrasounds and ensure patient flow.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:

  • Must be certified in one of the following: (within 10 days of hire)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT Sonography (S)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS)
  • ARRT (R) with a KY License
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
  • Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
