Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.
Reports to: Director of Imaging Services
FLSA: Non-exempt
Essential Functions
Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Nonessential Functions
• Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
Organizational Expectations
• Compliance to the STRH - Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.• Compliance to Dress Code Standards• Should this job description be filled by a PRN employee, they will be subject to the requirements of that position.

X Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained one week following orientation prior to patient care. )
