POSITION SUMMARY:
The AVP of Accounting and Financial Reporting leads, organizes and directs all aspects of financial and operational reporting for Physician Services to create consistency and standard practices across Physician Services while maintaining adherence with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Highly collaborative with the RVP’s of Operations in leading the development of standard, consistent processes and reporting that align with the Strategic Priorities of Physician Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Plan, lead, analyze and execute all financial reporting activities of finance, operating, and recruiting functions for Physician Services. This includes developing relationships and being highly collaborative with local and HSC leadership, including Division and Hospital CFOs and Controllers and Physician Services RVP’s and AVPs. This role requires the individual to have the ability to customize written and oral communications for diverse levels across the organization.
- Lead the analysis of current practice operating costs to identify areas for potential reduction.
- Explore and assess market trends to identify opportunities for optimizing revenue generation.
- Utilize financial reporting data to identify cost-saving strategies and revenue-enhancing initiatives.,
- Collaborate with operational teams to review and enhance existing operating procedures for greater efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Leads the development, oversight, and analysis of comprehensive standardized financial tools and resources, including financial models, dashboards, and data analytics, that provide strategic insight and guidance to make actionable recommendations. Implement and manage the standard operating metrics, reports, and dashboards for Physician Services ensuring scalability and alignment to overall strategic priorities: quality and service, growth, operations excellence, and talent.
- Leads the development of all Return on Investment (ROI)’s associated with strategic initiatives.
- Leads the development and deployment of the centralized vs. decentralized plan of accounting for Physician Services, which in-depth analysis of factors including operational efficiency, resource allocation, timely reporting, and compliance to determine the most optimal accounting structure that aligns with the broader strategic priorities of Physician Services.
- Lead the cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses and recommend budget modifications as required.
- Ensure processes are in place to verify adherence to policies and procedures, internal controls, and operational initiatives that align with the Company’s strategic priorities. Oversee Physician Services accounting activities to ensure adherence with Company Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Assist with implementation of SOX controls for acquired entities or Coordinate and assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Serve as point person for all internal and external audit requirements, including resolution of audit and internal control findings.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Masters Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting/financial experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Experience in Public Accounting preferred.
Certifications and Licenses: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
