Staff Accountant - Hybrid

Reporting to the VP of Finance – Enterprise Business Services, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the standardization of finance data (chart of accounts, organization structure, etc.), designing and building the future state design, identifying, and communicating change impacts to business stakeholders and implementing the technology to support a large-scale transformation project.
This position is responsible for business process development, including the development of policies and procedures, documentation, and underlying data in key areas including General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany Transactions, Accruals, Billing, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Inventory Valuation, Standard Costing and Business Unit Reporting, etc.
The role will be part of a cross-functional team environment that is responsible for providing business process and systems expertise, implementation team and end user support, and participation in the development of future state design process flows, providing perspective on current state processes and challenges while being open-minded to new ways of working.
Essential Functions:
Interpret employer policies and procedures, entity procedures and applicable laws. Consult with managers, providing guidance and education on appropriate compliance.
Understand the detailed components of finance processes within healthcare.
Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) transformation team to design, configure, and test ERP system(s) as needed.
Maintain catalogues of and specifications for reports, interfaces, and customizations in conjunction with IT.
Identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and consolidation in current operations.
Assist in developing and supporting the organization's new chart of accounts that standardizes account codes, facilitates financial reporting, and positions the organization for future growth.
Document current state financial practices and future state financial practices, document changes to policies and procedures as required.
Facilitate the process of standardizing finance data and related terms.
Define and document integration requirements with other systems (e.g., clinical systems, budgeting, etc.).
Assist cross functional teams in understanding the accounting aspects of configuration decisions, process decisions, and financial reporting requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced Accounting or Finance degree, or CPA/MBA, preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3 -8 years of general accounting experience; 2-4 years in a health care environment preferred.
Solid understanding of GAAP.
Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes in a healthcare environment.
Solid background in financial reporting and business process improvement methodologies.
Technical expertise in ERP systems, with the ability to translate business requirements into system configuration for finance module(s).
Familiarity with ERP implementation and configuration processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Sarbanes-Oxley experience a plus.
