The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting the cardiologist in diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures on adult patients and providing quality nursing care, assessing and managing patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab, and occasionally in other designated areas within the hospital. Additionally, the Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will assist the cardiologists in all aspects of invasive cardiology (diagnostic and intervention, if applicable), including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters in accordance to policy and procedure. The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse shall also be responsible for the operation and reporting of results using blood glucose, oxygen saturation and activated clotting time devices in accordance with policy and procedure.
Candidates must be flexible to cover first shift and late days as cath lab and hospital needs demand. There will be occasional travel to other DLP Cardiac Partners sites as needs require.
Minimum Requirements
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Required Licensure:
Licensed RN in NC or compact state
Required Certification:
BLS certification required.
ACLS required within 90 days
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years of critical care experience or cardiac catheterization experience and working with hemodynamic waveforms and vaso-active medications required. Ability to read and recognize EKGs and dysrhythmias required.
