Position Summary:

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a Supervisor, Women’s Services.  This is a full-time position for a Registered Nurse to assist with managing our 15 bed Women’s Services Department.  We typically have 45-50 births per month.  The department is family centered couplet care, and the patient ratio follows AWHONN Guidelines. Labor patients 1:2 until active labor and then 1:1 until post-partum and then 1:4. The successful candidate will manage a high-functioning team with strong support systems in place. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Determining, coordinating and supervising daily staffing assignments and levels
  • Providing direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Performing or assisting with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assessing and ensuring quality of services delivered and facilitating staff development programs.
  • Ensuring staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Performing staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
  • Leading the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • Licenses: Nevada RN license
  • Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA within 90 days of hire.
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
    • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certificate (FMC) within 6 months of hire. Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) within 1 year of hire.
    • In the event that the employee holds an instructor certification, the instructor certification is allowed.
    • STABLE course to be completed within 90-days of hire and maintained thereafter.
    • All staff members must complete Handle with Care training within 30 days of hire and are required to renew annually.
