The Polysomnography Tech provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment. Performs EEGs as assigned.

Reports to:  Director - Cardiac-Pulmonary & Neurodiagnostic Services


Minimum Education

High School diploma or GED - Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Preferred

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire

Licenses: Effective 7/1/2010, State of Tennessee Polysomnography licensure - Required when performing Sleep Studies. Must obtain within 6 months of employment.
New Hires pending State Polysomnography Licensure can only complete EEG Tech functions.
