Essential Functions

• Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.
• Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.
• Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.
• Prepping and scanning all medical records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Responsible for handling any release of information requests for continuing care, including phone calls, faxes, and face-to-face walk ins.
• Serve as back up to the transcription supervisor answering stat calls and working the pending queue.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent Required

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
