Job Summary

Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing as well as speech-language and therapy needs. Services provided through a written plan of care and in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Essential Functions

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
• Accurately documents daily charges.
• Adheres to policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department

Minimum Education

• Master's Degree required in Speech and Language Pathology

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Licenses

• Current North Carolina Speech Therapist license

Minimum Work Experience

• 1-3 years Speech Therapy experience preferred.
