Position Summary:

Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families.  Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies.  Under the direction of the Nurse Manger, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patient’s plan of care.  Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of populations served. Assigned responsibility and accountability for an individual or group of patients during a designated time frame. The float nurse provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care and designated competencies. Promotes and maintains quality patient care and assists in teaching nursing staff.  

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Graduate of a Nursing school or completion of an RN Nursing Degree Program

·       PA RN license that is active and in good standing

·       2 years acute medical-surgical care

·       BSN Preferred

·       Basic Dysrhythmia preferred

·       Critical Care Course preferred

·       Trauma Course preferred

·       Stroke Course preferred

·       Experience in cardiac monitoring, neuro, critical care and IV Therapy preferred
