Lifepoint Health is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Accounts Payable Department

Position Summary:

The AP Manager is an essential member of our Accounts Payable Department. Manages Corporate Accounts Payable department staff and organizes work processes, methods and procedures for processing accounts payable transactions.Oversees projects/reconciliations to ensure closure in an accurate and timely manner.

Essential Functions: 

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

•    Serve as A/P Department coordinator for updates, upgrades, improvements and testing of SAP A/P software and ancillary A/P systems’ software used by A/P staff throughout Kindred. Work closely with the I/S Development Departments.
•    Supervise, coaches, trains and evaluates Accounts Payable staff in checking and approving vouchers, processing invoices, EDI transactions, reconciliations, researching and communicating on information requests, and maintaining positive vendor relations.
•    Develop, implements, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company policy and guidelines.
•    Provide mentoring and assistance to Accounts Payable team members.
•    Evaluate accounts payable procedures, apply policies and guidelines with some latitude for interpretations, ensure staff operates within established procedures, and submit recommendations for changes to improve efficiency.
•    Train, motivate, and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product.
•    Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions.
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to diagnose and address bottlenecks and continuously improve our processes.
•    Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in an expeditious manner to deliver excellent customer service.
•    Evaluate accounts payable procedures, apply policies and guidelines with some latitude for interpretations, ensure staff operates within established procedures, and submit recommendations for changes to improve efficiency.
•    Assist in completing annual 1099 filings to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
•    Review and release data to SAP system for payment.
•    Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of accounts payable system and function.
•    Assist in special projects as needed.
•    Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

 Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Supervise the work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but do not have final responsibility for making these decisions.

Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.

In hospital environment, may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.

Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field.

Experience:

5+ years experience in Accounts Payable or related Finance area; 5+ years supervisory/management experience
