Fiscal Services - Accountant

This is a full time (0.8 - 1.0 Status), day shift Accountant position in the Fiscal Services department.

The accountant is responsible for preparation of complex journal entries and account reconciliations as well as resolving reconciling items, establishing processes to prevent further occurrences of out of balance conditions.

PRIMARY (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES

• Month-end close day 1-10 of each month
• Monthly journal entries & reconciliations
• Researching variances on the financial statements
• Daily revenue and banking entries
• Recording of Fixed Assets per the policy
• Outside billing in QuickBooks
• Unclaimed Property
• Maintaining cash tracking spreadsheet for Patient Accounts
• Daily reporting of revenue to the Leadership staff
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required:  Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting. Working knowledge of Excel.  Ability to learn new accounting systems and other software systems.   Working knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply to work situations required. Must have demonstrated ability to analyze information and data. Must be detail orientated and be able to function effectively with multiple interruptions.   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting
• 3 or more years of experience in accounting.  Preferred work experience in public accounting
• Prefer a Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word.

Weekend Requirements:  No.
