Fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging – DEIB at Lifepoint Health

Lifepoint Health’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is rooted in our mission, vision and core values as well as our belief that all people deserve equitable access to quality care close to home. We unite people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and abilities in a culture of belonging and foster places in which everyone feels welcome, included, seen, heard and cared for.

Our work in DEIB contributes to a culture of belonging. At Lifepoint, we create inclusive environments, communicate with empathy, work to understand and manage biases and support the needs and priorities in the communities we serve.

Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are company-sponsored affinity groups based on shared identities or experiences among employees. Through events, networking, and support, these groups build community and contribute to the personal and professional development of their members. ERGs play an important role in making Lifepoint Health a more diverse, inclusive and equitable environment.

Our ERGs are open to all Lifepoint Health team members:

ERG Tile - Embrace Open / Close

Embrace is our ERG for LGBTQ+ team members and allies. Our mission is to empower and embrace our LGBTQ+ team members, allowing them to be who they are by respecting their individuality and supporting their voices; to advance education, understanding, and advocacy for our LGBTQ+ team members and patients through compassion and kindness; and to foster an open environment of visibility and respect for all, no matter sexuality, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation or preference.

ERG Tile - Emerge Open / Close

Emerge is an ERG designed with the intent of creating visibility, understanding and support for employees from Black communities and their allies. We seek to purposefully engage and stimulate thought and conversation around the sensitivities, influences and challenges that come from the paradigm of racial difference. We serve as advocates for Black colleagues to receive proportionate opportunities within our company through creating relationships for development, mentorship, strategic allyship and promotion.

ERG Tile - Empower Open / Close

The Women’s ERG, EMPOWER, supports, promotes and advocates for women at LifePoint and their allies. This ERG focuses on networking, professional development, mentoring and community engagement to attract, develop and retain women employees. Lifepoint is made up of nearly 80 percent women, so we feel strongly there was a need for a place for women to come together to find community, empowerment and inspiration to bring their best selves to work.

ERG Tile - Unidos Open / Close

UNIDOS’s mission is to develop a network of employees and promote cultural diversity and the professional development of our Hispanic/Latino members and allies. It is our mission to provide support that inspires, empowers and equips UNIDOS members to achieve excellence. You’ll have a chance to connect with other employees across the country, hear from accomplished Hispanic and Latino professionals, join professional development programs and more.

ERG Tile - Honor Open / Close

The HONOR ERG supports, promotes and advocates for Veterans and Allies. Our mission is to foster Integrity, Service and Leadership, and act in collaboration with our other ERG groups to support our Core Values. As there is representation from each ERG in the military community, the HONOR ERG seeks to develop communication, recognition, and opportunities for our Veterans and Allies.

ERG Tile - Envision Open / Close

ENVISION recognizes and celebrates all types of Asian heritage including those of East Asian and Central Asian descent, as well as Pacific Islanders. This ERG aims to foster a culture of community and belonging where team members of Asian heritage and allies can share their cultural heritage, diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Guiding principles of ENVISION include upholding Lifepoint Health’s core values; recognizing and celebrating diverse cultures and individuals within our community; participating actively in community events and associations; and providing opportunities for continuous professional growth.

I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had since joining EMERGE. Becoming an ERG member has helped me create meaningful connections with others and inspired me to do more in my personal and professional life.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Council at Lifepoint Health

As the cornerstone to shape meaningful efforts and change, our council provides broad insight into our DEIB opportunities and challenges. The DEIB Council plays a central role in overseeing DEIB programs, engaging teams across the nation, refining operational strategies and providing guidance around measurement, policies, tools and training.

The council is comprised of 15 members representing Lifepoint’s many parts, departments, regions and employees of diverse backgrounds. This helps ensure that our DEIB strategy is effective and reflective of employees’ and communities’ needs. Our programs and policies are integrated into all that we do – and are tracked and measured.
