Position Summary:

  • GN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame under the direct supervision of an RN.
  • The Graduate Nurse provides care to his/her assigned patients utilizing the nursing process while coordinating care with other health care team members. 
  • The Graduate Nurse provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education:  Graduate of a School of Nursing Program.
  • Minimum Experience:  Experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Certification/Licensure:  State permit to practice as a Graduate Nurse.
  • Current CPR required.  NRP required within six months of hire. 
  • For New Hires:  Required certification must be obtained with in (1) year of employment.  If currently certified, must maintain current certification.
  • Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
