How you'll contribute
An OR Technician who excels in this role:
Prepare and maintains surgical instruments in the OR suite and ensures their proper set-up, assists surgical team during the surgical procedure(s).
Has an understanding of the procedures being performed and can anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during procedure.
Transport to decontamination room upon completion of the surgical procedure.
Handles instruments and supplies correctly and ensures their proper functioning.
Responsible for all instruments, maintaining them in good working order, and assuring the availability of needed instruments to do all surgical cases.
Maintains sterile field and counts all instruments, sponges, needles etc, needed for each case.
Has necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
Cleans, assembles, and prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilization when needed.
Follows proper sterilization processes.
Participates in testing and recording of all Biotesting for the sterilizers and autoclaves in the department as needed.
Responsible for confirming equipment while in the OR/Procedure room. Sterile field has been appropriately processed/sterilized.

What we're looking for
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
Graduate of a surgical technology program - Preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
License/Certifications: Certification from clinicals completed required; BCLS Required.
