Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Physical Therapy. This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, especially in a stressful environment where the individual must take appropriate action. The essential functions of the position include performing initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, establishing a plan of care tailored to the identified problems, and involving the patient based on their capabilities and desires. The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing individually designed physical treatment programs aimed at maintaining, improving, or restoring physical functioning, alleviating pain, and preventing dysfunction. The therapist will apply standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate to the patient's age and condition, as well as direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. This includes assessing competence, delegating specific tasks, and maintaining clear communication channels. Additional duties include administering treatments involving physical agents, utilizing equipment such as moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines, as well as evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommending modifications. The Physical Therapist is also responsible for identifying and documenting goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree Required
- Physical Therapist License in the state of Washington
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
