Position Summary:
The Business Analyst plays a critical role in the success of the ITS Financial Systems team. The right candidate will contribute to the team's success with their strong abilities to analyze, design, test, and support complex business solutions for Lifepoint's revenue cycle business teams.
The successful analyst will also exhibit strong interdepartmental relationship-building to foster teamwork between our team, other ITS teams, and the business units that we support.
Essential Functions:
- Understands Lifepoint's Information Systems strategy and how it supports the overall business strategy.
- Exhibits expert knowledge of the business areas being supported.
- Plays a key role in advocating business and user requirements in support of Lifepoint's business goals.
- Uses Lifepoint's Information Systems standards to apply advanced technology and tools in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of ITS business solutions by successfully:
- Collaborating with business leadership to understand issues and analyze business needs.
- Designing solutions and fully documenting system requirements to meet business objectives.
- Working with Lifepoint infrastructure teams to implement and automate developed solutions.
- Supporting production applications (on-call problem resolution), as needed.
- Acts as an advisor to business teams in the design or selection of new application systems.
- Collaborates with external vendors as needed to understand the functionality of potential business solutions and to identify implementation requirements. Works with vendors and business partners to test systems as appropriate.
- May be asked to train users on application functionality or provide on-site at-the-elbow support as needed.
- Approximately 70% of time should be spent performing systems analysis activities - eliciting, documenting and refining requirements, testing application updates, and working with implementation teams on software implementations or conversions. Remaining time should be spent on end user support activities.
Qualification, Education, Knowledge, Skills:
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience required in business analysis, quality assurance or software implementation
- Minimum 3 years' experience in revenue cycle operations, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Prefer a candidate with hands-on revenue cycle operations experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or other equivalent degree. MBA is desirable.
Knowledge:
- Business Analysis is a primary function for this role. The successful candidate in this position is expected to be verifiably competent in understanding revenue cycle workflows, applications and tools. Applicant will be expected to understand the tools and processes used by the business unit, and be able to support and recommend process enhancements.
