Position Summary:

Essential Functions: 

  • Acute Care integration planning: Manage the integration of Acute Care Hospital infrastructure and clinical technology platforms based on LifePoint standards while maintaining an ongoing understanding of the LifePoint Technology Roadmap to ensure seamless integration.
  • Technology Leadership and Planning: Own the technology roadmap execution specific to the Acute Care service line and develop effective relationships and communications across all areas of the business to enable the execution of LifePoint's enterprise technology roadmap. 
  • Data Interoperability and Migration: Enable the migration of medical data (e.g., patient records, billing data) into LifePoint's systems, ensuring interoperability, data integrity, and compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • IT Project Management: Lead technology-focused integration projects, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure successful system transitions on schedule and within budget.
  • Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

  • Access to and / or works with sensitive and / or confidential information.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in healthcare IT architecture with a focus on leading enterprise solutions and standards. Project management skills required.

Certifications:  TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, CISSP, Project Management Professional (PMP) and other infrastructure certifications preferred.

Licenses: N/A

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA / HITRUST). 
  • Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

IT Infrastructure 

  • Advanced IT Infrastructure Skills - Proficient in IT infrastructure as it relates to healthcare to include networking best practices, security profiles and standards, IAM, MS Active Directory configuration and management,  AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud computing concepts, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, solution diagram and documentation production and management / maintenance, and healthcare facility acquisition and integration.

Communication

  • Organizational Communication -- Handles broad-based complex information across departments with company-wide impact. Presents to diverse audiences, and can negotiate, motivate and persuade others.

Decision Making

  • Organizational Impact -- Decisions have significant, broad implications for the management and operations of a division. Job contributes to decisions on the overall strategy and direction of LifePoint.

  • For those working on-site, they will have a well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.  Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment

  • In hospital environment, the individual may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.

  • This position can expect overnight travel by land and/or air according to the requirements below: Normal business hours are: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.  However, schedules may vary by business necessity.   Remote workers are expected to be available during normal business hours, unless otherwise approved by the department leader(s).
