How you'll contribute 

Behavioral Health Technician who excels in this role:

 

  • Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration. Reviews staffing needs daily, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports. 
  • Supervises Patient Sitters.
  • Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements.
  • In timely manner, informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
  • Determines, coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters.
    Provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters. 
  • Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. 
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
  • Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
  • Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
  • Maintains assigned calendar(s).
  • Maintains files and office equipment.
  • Orders and stocks supplies.
  • Additional duties as assigned and needed.

 

What we're looking for

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.

  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment prior to any patient contact

 

Schedule: PRN, 12 hr. shifts 7a-7p / 7p-7a

Westpark Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Richmond, Texas. We provide evidence-based inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges. We treat adolescents ages 12+ and adults ages 18+.

 

Programs include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) ®. And we are affiliated with The Jason Foundation.
