How you'll contribute 

A Cat Scan Technician who excels in this role provides computed tomography (CT) imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to the Director of Radiology and/or Supervisor.

1. Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
2. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
3. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
4. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
5. Prepares equipment and supplies.
6. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
7. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
8. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
9. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
10. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.
11. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for 
Applicants should hold a associates or a bachelors degree in Radiology (required qualifications). Additional requirements include:

1. Active and valid certifications with ARRT for RT and CT within the state of North Carolina.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association upon hire.
3. On-Call Availability: Must accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by technologist on duty.
