The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.
How you'll contribute
A Central Sterile Technician who excels in this role:
- Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
Provides processing and documentation of all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
Provides monitoring and performance of antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and daily documentation.
Provides operation of departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
Provides management of inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring all items are properly stored, tracked, and replenished as needed.
Provides maintenance of accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory records.
Provides collaboration with surgical teams to ensure all necessary sterile supplies are available for upcoming procedures.
Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on patient needs.

What we're looking for
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Licensures:
- Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Required Skills:
- One year of experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand the function and proper handling of medical instruments.
- Experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment with a focus on aseptic technique.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments and procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies efficiently.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for quality assurance purposes.
- Certification or training in sterile processing or central sterile services is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is highly valued.
