Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Starr Regional Medical Center
Location: Etowah, TN

Full-Time Day Shift 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Position Summary
Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, the Certified Nurse Aide performs basic patient care activities in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This role supports nursing staff and contributes to a safe, comfortable, and compassionate patient experience.
Reports to: Department Director or Manager

Essential Functions
Provides direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, feeding, ambulation, and repositioning.
Assists nursing staff with vital signs, specimen collection, and routine observations and reports changes in patient condition promptly.
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including stocking supplies and equipment.
Supports patient mobility and safety using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Documents care provided in accordance with department standards.
Performs other duties as needed to support the clinical team.

Patient Populations Served: Older Adult
Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, and complete medical record
Exposure: Role includes occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive arm/hand movements. Routine exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood, bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Education
High school diploma preferred

Licensure / Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Handle With Care certification preferred
