The operating room is equipped with six beds and handles an average of 400 cases per month. The scope of procedures includes a diverse range of specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Cataract and Retinal Eye surgeries, Gynecologic, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic and Reconstructive, and Gastroenterological surgeries. The majority of cases are general and orthopedic. Surgical operations are conducted Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to ensure continuous coverage.

 

How you'll contribute

Certified Surgical Tech (CST) who excels in this role:

  • Is responsible for setting up surgical procedures, scrubbing on cases and performing appropriate functions to facilitate the flow of surgical patients. 

  • Works under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.  Shares responsibility for the care and safety of the patients who come under his or her care. 

  • Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication between themselves and the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, physician and other hospital departments.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Completion/graduation from an approved OR Technician program. 

  • Certification as a Surgical Technician

  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
