Certified Surgical Technologist - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Surgery Center of Athens
105 North Meadows Drive, Athens, TN 37303
Schedule: PRN | Day shifts, with on-call and rotation requirements
About the Role
As a Certified Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room, you'll be a vital part of our surgical team. You will prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensure proper instrumentation and supplies are available, and directly assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient safety and high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, drapes, and equipment
Assist with patient transport, positioning, and prepping for surgery
Pass instruments to surgeons and anticipate procedural needs
Account for instruments and supplies to maintain safety standards
Handle and process surgical specimens appropriately
Support infection control and aseptic technique at all times
What We're Looking For
Education/Certification (must meet ONE):
Current NBSTSA certification, OR
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP), OR
Completion of Armed Forces/CAAHEP-accredited surgical training, OR
Successful completion of the NBSTSA certifying exam
Licensure: Tennessee Certified Surgical Technologist (preferred)
Certifications: BLS required at hire; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred within 6 months
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to stay calm under pressure, teamwork-focused mindset
