Position Summary
The Physician Services Clerk provides quality customer service to patients and performs functions delegated and assigned by the Office Manager. This role supports efficient front office operations while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree preferred

Experience / Knowledge
- Knowledge of computers, coding, and medical terminology preferred

Essential Functions
- Performs front office activities in a kind, courteous, and professional manner
- Communicates effectively with patients and families
- Notifies Office Manager of customer complaints promptly
- Collects and updates patient demographic information in the practice management system
- Communicates delays and offers alternatives to waiting patients
- Manages telephone communications and documents messages accurately
- Coordinates EMR/medical record activities
- Collects and posts payments while ensuring security of funds
- Schedules patients and manages appointment workflows for efficient patient flow
- Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains prior authorizations as needed
- Reviews patient accounts and educates patients on balances due
- Performs appointment reminder/confirmation calls
- Completes required in-service training
- Participates in patient satisfaction improvement initiatives
- Facilitates referrals to other healthcare team members when needed
