Job Summary
A Cook performs a variety of tasks that facilitate the provision of food service and nutritional support to patients, employees, and visitors
Qualifications & Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent required
Two Years experience in food services hospital setting preferred . Ability to be ServSafe Certified within 3 months of hire. Also, must re-certify every 3 years.
Essential Functions Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions
Reviews menus to determine types and quantities of food needed
Prepares quality food in sufficient quantities to cover all service requirements
Coordinates timing of preparation in order to meet service schedules for patients, staff and visitors
Adheres to standardized recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control food cost
Provides maintenance and sanitation of equipment in food production areas
Adheres to sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP)
Participates in the process of ordering supplies
Gives direction to personnel assisting in food preparation
Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities
Orients and mentors new staff members
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary

The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center, and offers high-quality, comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services close to home. Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center also provides primary care services, preventative care, and community education to the Meyersdale community through its Family Health Care Rural Health Clinic.
