Staffing Coordinator
Part-time, day shift

Essential Functions
- Performs a variety of duties to support nursing administration.
- Reviews staffing needs on a daily basis, calculating staffing requirements based on flexible staffing patterns and patient acuity and maintains record of reports.
- Supervises Patient Sitters.
- Reviews staffing levels to actively resolve staffing shortages using flexible staffing plan as guidelines for staffing requirements. In timely manner, informs appropriate Director when staffing issues are anticipated and/or occur.
- Determines, coordinates and supervises staffing assignments for patient sitters.
- Provides recruitment, direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Patient Sitters. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
- Reviews, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
- Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, and appointments.
- Maintains assigned calendar(s).
- Maintains files and office equipment.
- Orders and stocks supplies.
- Other duties as requested and/or assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent Required; Associate's degree - Preferred
- Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred.
- Certifications: CPR and de‑escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.
