More about our team

Our Construction Project Management team plays a critical role in supporting Lifepoint Health's mission by delivering high-quality capital projects that directly impact patient care and community access to healthcare. We partner closely with hospital leadership across the country to bring meaningful improvements to life, all within a collaborative, supportive environment that values both professional growth and work-life balance. Here, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference while working alongside experienced leaders who are committed to your success.

How you'll contribute

A Director who excels in this role:

  • Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital construction projects across acute care hospital facilities, ranging from $500K to $100M
  • Partner with hospital CEOs, COOs, and clinical leaders to define project scope and translate operational and clinical needs into construction plans
  • Develop preliminary budgets, scope documentation, and capital requests to support funding approvals
  • Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with architects, engineers, general contractors, and consultants
  • Oversee all phases of projects including pre-design, design, and construction to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including hospital administration, clinical stakeholders, contractors, and design professionals
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain timelines and financial targets
  • Review and approve project bids, change orders, and invoices to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms
  • Conduct routine site visits to evaluate construction progress, quality, safety, and contractor performance
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, building codes, and safety standards (e.g., JCAHO, ADA, OSHA, NFPA)
  • Maintain ongoing communication with hospital leadership to provide updates, manage expectations, and support operational continuity during construction
  • Support inspections, resolve code-related issues, and represent the organization with local and state authorities
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects (approximately 15-20) with a total capital portfolio of ~$100M
  • Maintain detailed financial records and reporting related to project costs and capital expenditures

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in construction management, Architecture, or related field preferred (not required with relevant experience). Additional qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a strong preference for healthcare or acute care hospital environments
  • Prior experience working for a general contractor or managing construction projects from the contractor side strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing renovation and/or expansion projects within active facilities
  • Working knowledge of healthcare construction standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., JCAHO, ADA, OSHA, NFPA)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate diverse stakeholders across all levels of an organization
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with executives, clinicians, and construction professionals
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and contract management (experience can be developed on the job)
  • Ability to assess risk and make decisions from an owner's perspective rather than a contractor or design viewpoint
  • High level of problem-solving ability and sound judgment in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 25% as needed for project oversight
