Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the emergency services across all five locations, aligning with the system's overarching goals. Lead transformational change, promoting excellence in clinical practices and patient care.
  • Operational Management: Ensure the effective management of daily operations within each Emergency Department, standardizing protocols where appropriate to achieve efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Volume Growth and Patient Transfers: Spearhead efforts to increase patient volume through strategic planning and process improvements, including the development and implementation of efficient, patient-centered protocols for transferring patients to the main campus. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless transition for patients requiring specialized care.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of each department, including budget development, financial forecasting, and resource allocation. Implement strategies to optimize financial health and sustainability.
  • Quality and Compliance: Lead quality improvement initiatives across the emergency services spectrum, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between emergency services and other hospital departments, professional groups, and the community. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support integrated care and strategic partnerships.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-caliber team of healthcare professionals. Promote professional growth, operational excellence, and a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Innovation and Growth: Identify and implement innovative solutions and technologies to enhance service delivery, increase operational efficiency, and improve patient care. Lead initiatives to expand services and capabilities within and across the emergency departments.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Education: Master's Degree.
  • Experience: At least five years of leadership experience overseeing all operational experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Licensure/Certification: If a clinical professional, appropriate state licensure is required. Certification in healthcare administration or emergency management preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership, strategic vision, financial management, operational efficiency, and a commitment to quality and patient safety.
