Position Summary:
Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Required Skills:
Essential Functions
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including financial activities, service levels, and performance outcomes
- Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluation, and development
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets ensuring compliance with allocated funding
- Coordinates and directs internal and external audits
- Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development
- Ensures alignment with the organization's continuum of care
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Non-Essential Functions:
- Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, and contractors
- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages the work of others including planning, assigning, and reviewing work
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and corrective action for staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA)
- Knowledge of business office standards and practices
- Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and lead
- Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Office and data systems
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive computer tasks
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds
- Requires visual acuity including close, distance, and peripheral vision
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
- Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a climate-controlled office and hospital environment
- Potential exposure to biohazards and infectious materials
- Noise level typical of office and healthcare settings
- Occasional travel required (up to 10%)
