Schedule: this is a PRN role that will assist with coverage when our full-time staff is out.

How you'll contribute

A Dosimetrist who excels in this role rrovides medical dosimetry services for patient treatment planning in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Devises a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver the prescribed dose to a defined tumor volume in collaboration with the medical physicist. 

  • Performs dose calculations and assures complete, accurate, and timely recording of all data on all charts and forms. 

  • Instructs the technical staff in the implementation of the treatment plan. 

  • Assists in planning of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, blocks, and other beam modifying devices in collaboration with the Medical Physicist. 

  • Assists in the selection and evaluation of purchase requests involving radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment. 

  • Maintains records of daily treatment and other records as required. 

  • Records charges accurately for procedures performed and submits charges in the Record & Verify system. 

  • Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. 

  • Observes radiation safety measures for patient and personnel.

What we're looking for 
Applicants should have an associate degree in a related field.  Additional requirements include:

  • Licenses: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) (within 6 months); ARRT (T) Radiation Therapy Registry (Preferred)

  • Work Experience: 3 years as Medical Dosimetrist preferred
