Schedule: Full-time, 2pm-2am 3 days /week including weekends and holidays

Join our team in a dynamic 17-bed Emergency Department (ED) with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient experiences, including Abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, we also take pride in our chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume of approximately 74 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.

How you'll contribute

An Emergency Services Technician who excels in this role:

  • Performs administrative. clerical duties in support of an assigned area.

  • Required to perform telemetry monitoring,

  • Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls, codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.

  • Enters nursing requests subject to the approval of a licensed nurse. Asks for clarification when necessary.

  • Assists with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assembles and maintains patient records and charts.

  • Performs needed clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and ordering/ stocking supplies.

  • Assists RNs and physicians with other patient activities as needed.

  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.

  • Reports changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

  • Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.

What we're looking for

  • Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Applicants must have a current North Carolina Certified Nursing Aide license

Additional Requirements include

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire

  • One year of experience preferred

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
