How you'll contribute
An Endoscopy Tech who excels in this role:
- Anticipating Surgeon's needs
- Provides patient preparation and operating room preparation
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of endoscopic procedures.
Prepares Endoscopy suite with solutions, scopes, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of scopes and equipment.
Validates that complete and current reprocessing of the scope has occurred for every procedure.
Passes scopes and supplies to assist the physician during endoscopy procedures. Continually accounts use of supplies during endoscopy procedures.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and high level disinfection of scopes and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, ASGE, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
Processes and documents all scopes and supplies using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation as required.

What we're looking for- a dedicated individual with an understanding of patient care and a passion for the surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a high-stakes, fast-paced setting, ensuring patient safety through meticulous attention to sterile technique and by assisting the surgical team with the highest level of professionalism and skill.
High school diploma or equivalent Required
Completion of an approved Surgical Technology program is Preferred
Certification preferred
Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
One year of experience preferred
