How you'll contribute
An Environmental Services Supervisor who excels in this role:
- Oversees the facility's environmental services (EVS) operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Supervises EVS personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
- Ensures patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows are cleaned according to established schedules and infection control standards.
- Performs and oversees floor care activities such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping; ensures restrooms are stocked and fixtures are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and machinery, including vacuums, mini extractors, and hand trucks.
- Conducts routine inspections of the facility to evaluate cleanliness and physical condition; recommends repairs, painting, and space utilization improvements as needed.
- Schedules EVS staff to maintain appropriate coverage throughout the hospital.
- Develops and implements orientation and ongoing training programs to support staff competency and performance.
- Participates in hospital safety initiatives and committees.
- Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations and cleanliness standards..
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role preferred; student experience in higher education considered.
- Skills: Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Customer service experience or aptitude required to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public.
Schedule: M-F, Days
