How you'll contribute
A Facility Technician who excels in this role:
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straight edges.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Take daily/weekly/monthly readings of equipment operating temperature, psi, fluid levels, fuel levels, etc.
- Accurately and timely recording of readings onto data sheets and providing to maintenance coordinator for filing.
- Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
- Perform routine maintenance on boilers, such as replacing burners or hoses, installing replacement parts, or reinforcing structural weaknesses to ensure optimal boiler efficiency.
- Test and treat water supply.
- Serve as the on-call technician on a rotating basis.
- Provide groundskeeping services, such as landscaping or snow removal.
- Summarize scope and recommendations for vendor supplied repairs, maintenance, and projects.
- Develop & implement strategies mitigation of risk related to infection control and operating requirements for affected departments.
- Coordinate with vendor scope and schedule.
- Coordinate with Infection Control Preventionist to complete PCRAs and ICRAs as required by policy.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a trade school or technical school preferred. Additional requirements include:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Minimum of 3 years knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields: basic repairs and maintenance, pneumatics, vacuum systems, electrical, and controls.
