How you'll contribute
A Gift and Coffee Shop Team Leader who excels in this role:
Support the daily operations of our hospital-based retail and café space, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for customers and staff alike.
This hands-on role includes oversight of the coffee bar, assistance with food prep and inventory, customer service, register support, gift shop tasks and staff coverage when needed.
The team leader acts as a key team player and right hand to the shop manager, maintaining high standards in both the retail and café environments.
Supervise the coffee bar's workflow, cleanliness, product availability, and customer experience during open hours.
Assist with barista tasks, restocking, customer service, or food prep when needed.
Provide customer service, restock merchandise, and assist with displays.
Prepare and package food items in accordance with safety standards and menu guidelines.
Track inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies; collaborate with the manager to place weekly orders.
Step in to support team members who are absent or during high-volume periods.
Confidently use the register system, assist with end-of-day reporting, and ensure accurate cash handling when required.
Follow procedures to open and/or close both the gift shop and coffee bar, ensuring all areas are prepared and secured.

What we're looking for
The ideal applicant for this role will be able to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision. They will possess critical thinking skills and exercise decisive judgment. Additional requirements include:
- High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
- Retail, food service, or hospitality experience is preferred.
