How you'll contribute
A Nurse Manager who excels in this role:
- Manages the daily operations of the assigned department to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Provides leadership and direction for patient care within the assigned scope, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery.
- Assists in developing departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan and vision.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, engagement, and conflict resolution.
- Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, staff development, payroll coordination, and student engagement.
- Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Determines, justifies, and oversees the procurement and utilization of systems, equipment, and supplies; ensures proper maintenance and inventory levels.
- Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates care services with patients, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary departments.
- Provides direct patient care as needed to support unit operations.
- Creates and fosters an environment that supports professional growth, accountability, and team collaboration.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into clinical protocols and daily operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, or current enrollment in a bachelor's nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required (North Carolina or compact state).
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong critical thinking skills with decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress healthcare environment and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with a focus on staff engagement and performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage operational, clinical, and administrative responsibilities simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of budgeting, regulatory compliance, and healthcare operations.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs as required.
- Repetitive motion required for computer use; must possess required vision abilities.
- Works in a hospital environment with potential exposure to healthcare-related hazards.
