POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Labor Relations is responsible for overseeing all labor relations activities across the organization. This includes ensuring adherence to collective bargaining agreements, managing the grievance process, providing education and support to leadership teams regarding union interactions, and promoting effective communication and partnerships with union representatives. The Manager will act as a strategic advisor to leadership on labor matters and ensure consistent practices across all facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Ensure compliance with all collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) across facilities.
• Guide and support managers and HR teams on contract interpretation and application.
• Lead and oversee the grievance process, including step meetings, documentation, and resolution strategies.
• Provide regular training to facility leaders on labor relations, including:
- What to say (and not say) to union representatives.
- Understanding employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
• Collaborate with legal counsel on labor-related issues as needed.
• Monitor and address potential unfair labor practice concerns.
• Develop and implement proactive labor strategies to maintain positive union relationships.
• Lead contract negotiation preparation efforts, including research and strategy sessions.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure contract compliance at the local level.
• Develop and disseminate regular labor relations updates and educational materials to facility leaders.
• Act as the organization's primary liaison with union representatives.
• Partner with HR and compliance teams to address labor-related risks and trends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor relations or a related field. Experience working with unionized healthcare strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including NLRA and FMLA.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support facilities.
