The pharmacy unit plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. The unit is responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, maintaining comprehensive medication inventory and control, including narcotics and controlled substances. This includes selecting, calculating, measuring, preparing (both sterile and non-sterile), packaging, labeling, charging, and crediting various pharmacy products like intravenous medications. In addition, the pharmacy ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
How you'll contribute
A Lead Pharmacy Technician who excels in this role will:
- The Lead Pharmacy Tech will provide support to the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for direct supervision of pharmacy technicians with accountability for day to day activities, staff development, training and performance evaluations.
- Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the lead pharmacy technician will assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department.
- The Lead Pharmacy Tech will function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations.

What we're looking for
Applicants should be a High School graduate or equivalent. Additional requirements include:
- 3 years as a hospital pharmacy technician OR a minimum of 1 year as a hospital pharmacy technician + prior management experience to equal 3 years (hospital experience + management experience = 3 years).
- Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification.
