How you will contribute
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who excels in this role:
Assists the RN in the assessment of the patients' needs in conjunction with the individualized plan of care for each patient.
Follow established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
Administer medication accurately in compliance with hospital policy and procedure. Documents patient care given.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
Provides care that reflects the patient care plan and evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Assists in patient/patient representative teaching (re: knowledge deficit of treatment plan for current health problems) as directed.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we are looking for
Applicants should have a state of Michigan LPN license and have graduated from an LPN or LVN Program.
Additional requirements include:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
3 Years' experience working in a surgical environment.
Prior experience prepping patients for procedures pre-operatively and post-operatively.
