Department/Unit Summary
Responsible for performing clinical tasks under the direction of the RN and/or Physician in the Physician Clinic. Reports to: Office Manager I or II per clinic structure FLSA: Non-exempt
Under the direction of an RN and/or Physician, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN and/or Physician. Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN and/or Physician, patient, and families. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Teaches and reinforces education appropriately to patient and/or family throughout clinic visit. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum Education: LPN education required to obtain LPN licensure
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer skills required.
Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hire.
License: Current TN or Multi-State LPN licensure
Minimum Work Experience: 1 year LPN experience Required Experience in Family Practice and/or Specialty Physician Clinic Preferred
